Dubai has been in the limelight ever since the highly anticipated opening of the world’s tallest tower was announced. The unveiling of the tower was watched and admired by thousands around the globe.

The height was revealed on a counter in the opening ceremony – 828 meters. By no means a small feat, especially for a small city like Dubai, it was a proud moment for citizens and expatriates alike.

The Burj Dubai has been renamed Burj Khalifa by Shaikh Mohammed in honour of the president of the UAE.

Shaikh Mohammad said: “We built the high rise for people with strong will and determination. The highest point in the world should be linked to the big names and I announce today the opening of Burj Khalifa Bin Zayed.”

The public can now have a look inside (up to 124th floor!) and the tickets are available from the “At the Kiosk” in Dubai Mall. It may be better to plan the trip in advance, as the pricing suggests:

Adults (Dated & Timed) – Dhs 100
Children (Dated & Timed) – Dhs 75
Adults/Children (Immediate) – 210
Infants – Free

It’s a must for everyone visiting Dubai. The view is just fantastic.
You should not be afraid of heights ;-) then you will definitely not regret paying the fee. It is absolutely worth it. Just amazing.

    Been there, done that: AWESOME!

If you have the chance you should really go up and enjoy the great view.
The view is just incredible and in my humble opinion it’s even worth the Dhs 210 in case you don’t have the time/chance to plan ahead.
