flydubai – Dubai’s low cost carrier announces Beirut and Amman first destinations
1 Comment Published by dubaigirl April 7th, 2009 in Living, News, Tourism.Dubai’s first budget airline, flydubai was launched yesterday and will start off with flights to Beirut and Amman from June 1.

The carrier will take off from its base at Terminal 2 of the Dubai International Airport.
Arabian Business reports:
Airline chiefs will take delivery of its first two aircraft by the end of May with four being operational by the end of the year, they added.
A one way ticket to Beirut and Amman will cost AED250 including all taxes. Luggage, however, will be charged separately with one piece of luggage costing AED40 and a second bag costing AED100…
The airline’s operations team is currently finalising routes, which are likely to include the Indian subcontinent, north and east Africa, southeast Europe and the Middle East.
It would be great to finally have a low cost, no-frills airline option here in the city.

I left the UAE not too long after this airline launched. Does anyone know how it is doing? And if you are seeing Emirates and Etihad react with cuts to their ticket prices? Thanks. Mark
