RTA to reduce waiting time for Driving tests
0 Comments Published by dubaigirl March 16th, 2009 in Living. For many expats who have made Dubai their home, getting a driving license here is more of a necessity than a privilege. And for some it can be a long, costly journey testing one’s patience to the limit.

According to a recent news report, three in four applicants fail their driving test. This may be due to the RTA’s efforts to raise the standard of instruction and examination, and although it is very frustrating for the applicants, it probably is a good move to ensure that only those who have the required skills pass to keep our roads safe.
The RTA has now announced a strategic plan which includes a cut in the waiting time for driving tests. The current waiting time is approximately 30 days, and their aim is to reduce it to 15 days in a few months. They will also make night driving mandatory.
