Youtube among various sites blocked in the UAE
2 Comments Published by Dubai Expat December 22nd, 2008 in News.Possibly as a temporary measure to ease Internet traffic and load on bandwith, Youtube.com and various other popular sites have either been blocked or put on low priority over the past few days here in Dubai and the UAE.
This follows an incident where 3 underwater Internet cables were cut and Etisalat and Du, among other countries & ISPs struggle to get the problem fixed and everything back on track.
Hopefully these websites will be unblocked and back to normal access after this is completed!

oh i thought they were blocking it for good. this is good news where else could i watch journalists throw their shoes at bush.
Youtube is finally working again today… that took a WHILE! But so glad its finally back… feels like the return of a long lost friend.
