Some photos sent to us by a reader of the fire today. Dubai was abuzz with the news of a fire breaking out at the famed Atlantis Hotel, which is set to open this month. Sure enough, the smoke was visible from afar from very early in the morning and radio announcers frantic. A couple of hours later, presentations and photos were being passed around by email…

The Atlantis is a one of kind project created by billionaire developer Sol Kerzner. The fire apparently broke out in the lobby and the dome above it is visibly on fire in the photos. No casualties were reported.

The Atlantis has stated that they will still open the property as scheduled on 24th September 2008.
