So just what ARE the new Visa rules and regulations being touted in the press and on the streets? Word has it that there will be 16 different Visa categories that tourists, business people and others of the travelling ilk need to consider and apply for. The main aim of the new regulations is to rid Dubai and the UAE of all illegal residents and visitors by the end of 2008. The new rules will come into effect on 29 July 2008. The new regulations will also provide for various levels of medical insurance with each visa type, as well as a mandatory AED 1000 deposit which will be returned upon the end of the visit. In a positive twist, officials are also looking for ways of automating the application process via the Internet…more to follow!

The official Dubai Government site states:

Citizens of AGCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia) do not need a visa to visit Dubai or UAE. Some AGCC resident expatriates in managerial and professional jobs can get a visa on arrival at Dubai Airport. Citizens of 33 countries can get visas on arrival at Dubai International Airport.  Citizens from other countries require a visa sponsored by a UAE citizen or resident. Other entities like hotels, tour companies or airlines can also arrange visit visas.

For a detailed list of visa regulations and policies, visit the official Department of Naturalization & Residency – Dubai website here: http://www.dnrd.gov.ae/Dnrd/Transactions/Visitors/Visitors%20Services?lang=en-GB

….So after these new laws and Visa types come into effect, just HOW has your own life here in Dubai and that of others you know changed? Let us know!

    Hello people.

Getting a visa is not really tough, A UAE visa will let you go anywhere across the UAE and the documents you would need for ann typed of visa is a passport and if u have a sponsor, sponsor’s contract and sponsor’s passport. you have different visit visa’s and all have different prices and you will have to pay a deposit of 1000 AED which you will get it back when u exit or transform your visa to employment. One month and 3 months visas are available as of now and what ever the rules are subject to change everyday because its UAE. Kindly clarify before you start by callin any of your friends or relatives in UAE before entering. It will be really helpful and less pain when you come. I will also give an example they people who wanted to change and renew visa in the past 4 months had gone to KISH ISLAND nearedt to UAE about 7000 indian, Philipinos are stranded. Please Please keep youself updated on Visa rules. I also entered UAE in VISIT and i know the pain. I request every Human Being to keep track.

    Hope it helps

If you have any more clarifications Mail me.

    InshaAllah I will help
