Internet Failure hits Middle East and parts of Asia – Dubai Suffers Too
1 Comment Published by Dubai Expat February 1st, 2008 in News.Damage to undersea Internet Cables has caused havoc in the Middle East and Asia with heavy Internet disruptions in countries like Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE and India. The solution may take 1 – 2 weeks to implement fully, as some traffic is re-routed through other channels or lower-capacity routes – Internet users will thus experience delays and connection losses in the days to come. There has also been some disruption in Television and phone services. While Emirates Airlines did not report any problems, Dnata acknowledged some difficulties – Stock market impact was minimized as the faults began Wednesday, almost at the end of the trading week.
