Dubai plans 12 lane, sixth bridge to cross Dubai Creek at a cost of AED 2.5 billion
1 Comment Published by Dubai Expat February 1st, 2008 in News.MEED reports that the RTA Dubai is planning to construct a sixth bridge to cross the Dubai Creek. Construction will begin in March this year and be completed by 2012 at a cost of approximately 2.5 Billion Dirhams. The bridge plans to accommodate both cars and the upcoming Metro:
The bridge will be 1.6 kilometres long, 64 metres wide and 15 metres above the water level. It will have 12 lanes for road traffic and a track for the Green Line of Dubai Metro. It will be able to handle around 20,000 vehicles an hour. The project also includes 12 kilometres of new roads and 22 intersections.
