Khaleej Times reports today that the Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services plans to provide free medical services to expatriates who cannot afford it.
The cost of such treatments will be borne by the funds (Dh600,000) donated to Dohms by The Red Crescent Society (RCS) and Zakat Fund. Speaking to ‘Khaleej Times’ yesterday, Qadhi Murooshid, Director General of Dohms said: “Dohms will use the Dh600,000 to treat patients who cannot afford to pay for treatment in Dohms hospitals. Expats will be the beneficiaries of this fund because we charge the government for the treatment of locals,” explained Qadhi Murooshid.
