ICE - In case of Emergency

This concept has been around for a long time but was effectively brought into the spotlight by email forwards in 2005. There are various versions of this email, some of which advocate false information. For a complete list of email forwards and evaluation of hoaxes, visit this site.

In summary, paramedics advocate that “ICE” or one or more “In Case of Emergency” numbers should be stored on cellphones, so that medical and other emergency response personnel can get in touch with next of kin or other nominated people should something happen to you… A simple and effective idea.
