Dubai Hotels facing a weaker Summer than predicted
Published by hotelguru July 30th, 2006 in Tourism.While data is still unclear and inadequate…and professionals are far from a consensus, the general opinion seems to be that Dubai hotels are experiencing lower occupancies than expected this Summer.
The Israel - Lebanon conflict has had some short-term impact from people moving to the UAE to escape the fighting as well as holiday-makers originally bound for these countries, but the long term impact is yet to be seen.
Another possible reason could be a slower corporate market and changing travel trends, as people choose more exotic destinations to travel to. Is Dubai becoming too much of a hassle to provide a relaxing vacation? What about all the construction, traffic and high prices?
One can only wait and watch…
